Weddings have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Most of the church weddings in our family were done by my grandfather who is a bishop, and being his favorite granddaughter, I got to be the flower girl for most of them.

What stood out for me in each ceremony was how the brides looked stunning and the excessive love in the air, not to mention the overwhelming feelings, the beautiful colors, and all the radiance around.

Yet far too frequently, I saw a glaring gap: the wedding did not seem to represent the couple. It was just a ceremony without a coherent theme or personal touch – no narrative, just a routine.

A wedding needs to be more than a mere gathering – it needs to represent something beautiful that exemplifies one’s love story, the very reason for saying “I do”.
