This jolly-sounding Chinese confectioner is perhaps best known for its super-spongy wedding and special occasion cakes, but also manages a few salty surprises.

Roast pork buns are sweet and savory rolls filled with tender bites of pork and caramelized onions, making these filling little pockets an ideal snack at breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Athletic boosters can show their spirit by munching on deli-style sandwiches—including standards like roast turkey, chicken salad, roast beef and honey-baked ham served on either white, wheat or grilled as a panini—cleverly named after local college teams (the Virginia Tech Hokies, University of Virginia Cavaliers, George Mason University Patriots and Maryland Terrapins are all represented).

The shop owners also specialize in assorted “bubble teas”—a black tea beverage infused with tapioca bits—and fresh fruit smoothies that can be mixed-and-matched for maximum fun (try a frosty mango or passion fruit “bubble” smoothie for a shockingly sweet pick-me-up).

A fluffy slice of white chocolate mousse cake is a cream dream decorated with curls of white chocolate. Additional delicacies worth trashing your diet include freshly-made cranberry-orange scones, cherry turnovers, mini bundt cakes, assorted parfait cups and just about any of the airy cream pies.
