Ordained in 2006, Shaman has been providing Civil Union and Wedding services for couples looking for unique and personalized ceremonies ever since. David was raised Jewish, Lori - Christian. As liberal adults, the couple sought an interfaith spiritual community within which their respective upbringings would be honored as well as their desire to embrace such philosophies as Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism and the like. "As the venerable Wayne Dyer teaches, 'Be open to all things and closed to none'", says Lori. President of Interweave - LGBT Advocacy

Within the UUCSJS, David served as interim President of Interweave ( Interweave Continental ) - a LGBT advocacy and support organization. During his tenure Rev. Shaman became acutely enlightened as to the atrocities and discriminations committed and, in some circles, condoned against the LGBT community at large. The topic of marriage equality was one that particularly ignited David's ire, "There is simply nothing to debate regarding gay marriage. I declare the 'debate' to be over. Non-Violent Conflict Resolution

Shaman is also the owner of the School Peacemaker Program. "As an artist (composition, guitar, vocals, percussion and harmonica) I saw a way to reach kids via the 'Rhythm of Respect'". School Peacemaker provides non-violent conflict resolution alternatives using drums from around the world and puppetry for at-risk youth. "I was bullied a lot as a young kid and, as result, did some bullying myself. Kung Fu and music provided for me a way out of that loop. As The School Peacemaker I'm teaching children that they have options other than violence. Lori Waters - "The Magic is in the Ceremony"

Lori Waters was in human services, primarily serving adults with severe mental illness as well performing crisis intervention work until 1998. For several years Lori also worked within the wedding industry on the reception end of the business. "For me, the magic is in the ceremony. I believe that the wedding ceremony should be tailor-made for the couple. It's the most significant portion of the wedding event, in my opinion." Lori is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Social work. "Helping couples create the best ceremony experience utilizes my favorite skills - counseling, creating, writing and entertaining."
