Norma Allen Photography, located in Honolulu, HI, serving Oahu, and outer islands, specializes in Children and Family Portrait Photography, Weddings and Special Events. Norma attended Purdue University and California State University Fullerton graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. Her training began with traditional courses in B&W Film photography but as times changed she returned to college for courses in Professional Digital Photography. As a member of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International and a member of Professional Photographers of America Norma likes to stay well educated in the ever changing photography styles and techniques.

Her unique style is both heartfelt and artistic. Norma’s relaxed and friendly approach has earned her an excellent reputation with clients throughout Hawaii and mainland visitors. She provides her clients outstanding images that capture their personality as well as the beauty of Hawaii. Many times subjects are not posing, rather Norma allows clients to be themselves. Occasionally she will give direction for the shy or for those who just do not like having their picture taken. She helps them relax and be themselves then observes and captures the client’s personality with natural smiles.

In Events and Weddings Norma has a more photojournalism style. Often these images are captured as the story unfolds without the event attendees realizing their picture is being taken. This allows for more natural expressions.

Photography Sessions

As you have probably noticed from my galleries, my signature style of photography is casual and natural, focusing all the attention on my subject’s face. I like to use dark and light backgrounds in my studio portraits giving them a quiet, subtle allure by isolating faces and showing gorgeous skin tones. All finished portraits are completely retouched or enhanced at no additional charge.

Location sessions are a lot of fun. Please keep in mind that the weather can change so I like to arrange back up plans.

Photography Pricing

I truly enjoy photography and being able to tell the story of a given event. My personal objective is to eliminate the difficulty clients face in trying to decide which proofs to order. So I set up my fees in the most honest way I can think of, I charge a creative fee for my skills and talents, and then offer a reasonable processing fee for enlargements and magazine style albums.
