The Wedding Dress is a quaint boutique conveniently located at 222 Main Street in Portland, Connecticut. The Wedding Dress features a diverse selection of unique wedding dresses for brides, bridesmaids, mothers, and flower girls, in addition to a wide selection of headpieces, custom veils, lingerie, jewelry, and shoes. Our boutique is co-owned by an award winning designer who has worked in the fashion district in New York City, and has been honored by fashion icons such as Bob Mackie and Marc Jacobs. She even designed a black lace wedding dress for Gianni Versace.

Our inventory has been personally selected to create a collection of striking wedding gowns for the petite to the plus size woman. We also carry dresses for bridesmaids, mothers, flower girls, special occasion, and prom, as well as jewelry, shoes, veils, undergarments, and more.

Our family operated salon's knowledgeable consultants will gladly work one-on-one with you to create your ideal look. Shelley and her team made me feel like a princess, like I was the only bride they were working for. Before I went to the shop, I had an idea in mind for what I wanted for my dress and luckily Maria pulled a "what not to wear" on me and found me THE PERFECT DRESS!!! I was very happy with the service that The Wedding Dress offered, my only regret is that I did not get my attendants dresses there. Very personal and very professional.

Great shop. This is a small shop but has a good amount of dresses considering the size. They had some very different dresses in here, in terms of styles and designers I hadn't tried on elsewhere. Lisa that works here is fabulous!! She is so nice, not pushy and will give you an honest opinion. She was very patient with me. They had dresses to fit a variety of budgets.

I tried on some of the sales dresses and despite being samples, they were in great shape because they help you in and out of the dresses carefully so if you are really on a budget or in a hurry, don't hesitate to go here to look at samples. They also had some very pretty veils and headpieces here. I think it is worth the drive to go look here. They are pretty busy Thursday nights and Saturdays so if you can make a Friday morning appt, you can get in sooner.
