Just like Andrew and Jeremy, Michael Jamrock had to leave California and head east to Connecticut. The Winvian is one of the most gorgeous properties we have on EnGayged Weddings, and we are very lucky to have them be a part of our family. Winvian has been recognized worldwide as one of the top resorts on earth. I sat down with Win Smith from the Winvian and had a great conversation. Jamrock- The way EnGayged Weddings started was, my wife (Britt) and I own an entertainment company in South Florida, and we provide entertainment for many “Commitment Ceremonies” here in South Florida. One of the things we found working with our Gay couples was the fact that it is so hard to find “Gay Friendly” wedding vendors, and believe it or not the hardest gay friendly vendor to find is a venue. Tell me what are your thought on that? Win- First and foremost, we are not discriminatory at all or to anyone. I thought it was fantastic that Andrew and Jeremy were getting married here. At Winvian, we put our customers interests first, opposed to any political aspect. Connecticut is a pretty progressive state and no one should be denied their pursuit of happiness. Jamrock- When I asked Andrew and Jeremy about their experience at the Winvian, they couldn’t Reviews you higher, especially the butler service. Win- Our butler service is purely designed to provide every detail for our guests. We call it the “Book End Experience”. We take care of every detail from arrival to departure.Jamrock- How would you describe the Winvian? Win- Unassuming luxury, with 5 star amenities and no air of opulence. Luxurious with authenticity.

Jamrock- Tell me about the property itself. Win- Well, the barn we just had restored, but we didn’t want to lose the look and feel, so we had it restored to look old and rustic even though it was brand new. Jamrock- Everyone loves the tree house. Win- Yes, the tree house is very unique and popular. It is 32’ feet off the ground, which give you the feel of seclusion yet you are not isolated. That is why so many honeymooners love the tree house as Andrew and Jeremy did. We pride ourselves by allowing our guests to take ownership of the property as well as our individual designs and overall uniqueness. Jamrock- Did you see the ceremony? Win- I was on the side looking in. The ceremony was on our south lawn, between our coy ponds and the perennial gardens. It is a very peaceful area and then ad in the flowing water and blooming flowers, it was very nice and it created a nice sanctuary for the family and guests. Jamrock - How late did the party go 'til? Win- That is another great thing about the Winvian. We don’t have anyone around us so we don’t have to worry about noise and can party until the guests want to stop, and yes, it went very late into the night. Jamrock- I know you and your property very well. You have been part of the EnGayged Weddings family from the start, and I know the Winvian is constantly being featured in international publications, mostly because of family history and the uniqueness of the property. What was your thoughts of being part of the very first gay wedding featured in Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine? Win- I thought it was phenomenal, and very progressive. It was such a special, unique, and memorable experience. What better way than to have Martha Stewart feature this wedding and get it out to the masses.
